Ski Palisades Tahoe, hike Olympic Valley, and come back to somewhere worth coming back to.

Olympic Valley puts you ½ mile from the base of one of the largest ski resorts in California in winter, and surrounded by hiking, mountain biking, and easy access to Lake Tahoe in summer. The studio is the base — private, fully self-contained, with its own separate entrance.

The gas fireplace in the sleeping area is simple — just on/off, no wood required. It puts out real heat and the kind of ambiance that makes a cold Tahoe night feel exactly right. The bathroom has heated tile floors, which sounds like a small thing until you step out of a bath onto them in January.

FAQ

Questions about the studio

What couples typically ask before booking.

Is the studio good for a couples trip?+

It's designed for two. One bedroom, one bathroom with heated tile floors and a full-size tub, a gas fireplace in the sleeping area, and a private deck. There's no shared common area with other guests — it's fully self-contained with its own front door. Most couples describe it as cozy without feeling cramped.

What makes it feel romantic vs. a standard hotel room?+

A few things a hotel room doesn't have: a gas fireplace you turn on from bed, heated tile floors you step onto after a bath, a private deck with mountain views, and a full kitchen so you can cook in instead of eating out every night. The space feels like a home, not a room.

Is it good for a winter trip — Valentine's Day, ski weekend?+

Winter is one of the best times. Palisades Tahoe is ½ mile away with the free Mountaineer Shuttle picking up at the address, so you can ski all day and come back to a warm studio with a fireplace. Valentine's Day and Presidents' Day weekend book early — reserve at least 6–8 weeks out.

What about a summer trip — anniversary, birthday?+

Summer works well too. The deck is great in the evenings, hiking and mountain biking are right outside, and Lake Tahoe is 20 minutes away. Olympic Valley has outdoor events most weekends in summer. It's quieter than winter, which some couples prefer.

Is there a soaking tub or spa features?+

The bathroom has a full-size tub with heated tile floors — not a jetted spa tub, but a proper deep bath on warm floors. After a day of skiing or hiking, it's genuinely one of the amenities guests mention most in reviews.

Can we book directly instead of through Airbnb or VRBO?+

Yes — you can book directly through our site at the same nightly rate and skip the platform service fee. There's a $150 cleaning fee regardless of length of stay. Direct bookings get the same hosts, same studio, just without the platform markup.
